The Bank of England has said that bitcoin could be "worthless" and people investing in the digital currency should be prepared to lose everything.

In a warning over the potential risks for investors, the central bank questioned whether there was any inherent worth in the most prominent digital currency, which has soared in value this year to close to $50,000 (£37,786) a piece.

Alibaba (NYSE:BABA) shares rose almost 4%, Tuesday, following a report that the Chinese e-commerce giant is preparing to make a move that involves gaming in the metaverse.
According to the South China Morning Post, Alibaba (BABA) has registered a new company in Beijing that will test the metaverse potential for gaming software and services. The SCMP said the company, called Yuanjing Shengsheng, is wholly owned by Alibaba's (BABA) investment arm, and is being established two months after Alibaba (BABA) set up a cloud-gaming company with a similar name.Read More

"With rates climbing, this adds risk to higher multiple software stocks trading over 20 times revenue," the analysts wrote.

Tesla Chief Executive Officer Elon Musk unloaded another batch of shares on Monday, in a rough start to the week for the electric car maker.

It was a mixed session for major FX rates here during the Asia session. The USD has added gains most noticeably against the AUD, EUR, GBP and CAD. USD/JPY is more or less net unchanged on the session while USD/CHF has inched a little higher.

News and data flow was light. We did get the monthly National Australia Bank business survey that, on balance, was positive. Conditions improved while confidence did ebb, but after a big surge higher the previous month. The US PPI data was expected to be high but not this high.

Producer price came in at 9.6% versus 9.2% year on year high. That was a record and on back of the CPI which rose to a near 4 decade high, suggests the pipeline of inflation will be around for a while.

The data comes ahead of the FOMC decision tomorrow which is largely expected to lead to a doubling of the taper to $30B per month (buying is currently at $105B so in 3+ months the taper can be complete and the debt market will stand on it's own two feet - assuming all goes well)).Read More
